I read on Android Authority the Ice Cream Sandwich update was available for Rogers customers. So I hooked up my Galaxy to my desktop and Kies said there was a firmware upgrade available. If you don’t have Kies installed you need to do so right now. It is the software for connecting your desktop/laptop to your Android Device.
I have never updated the firmware before so I was very reluctant. Everything went smooth, the upgrade took about 25 minutes. I tweeted at 1:42 I should never have started an upgrade so late because I was so fascinated with how fast my Android was now
I have actually fallen out of “love” with the Android platform for a while there. My Galaxy was acting up very badly, the search screen popping up with the slightest movement, Facebook wouldn’t connect, neither TweetDeck nor Twitter worked properly, nor did Foursquare or get Glue, unexplained battery drains and the list goes on …
Now though I like the performance, it’s fast, faster than before. Having to reset everything is a bit of a pain, but it’s not too bad. I’ll give it another couple of days then blog about it on the weekend.
Speaking of the weekend … I have a slot open on Saturday 1 – 5 for a one on one word press class.
